Architect Registration Examination (ARE)
Reviews, Challenges, and Appeals
There are no provisions in the Board’s regulations that permit a review of an ARE division, challenge of multiple-choice questions, or the appeal of an ARE result.
As stated in the ARE Guidelines, a review is available to a candidate ONLY if a board of architecture permits reviews of failed examinations. In jurisdictions where permitted, a candidate may challenge a multiple-choice question incorrectly answered. NCARB does not permit challenges to a graphic vignette.
