New Board Members

Three new members were appointed to the Board in 2014. They are Denise Campos, Ebony Lewis, and Barry Williams:

Denise Campos
Denise Campos

Denise Campos is a public member of the Board. Campos was appointed by the Senate Rules Committee in June 2014. She has over 12 years of experience working in community and government relations. Campos works for Southern California Gas Company’s Regional Public Affairs team. Prior to that, she worked for several Los Angeles local elected officials. She is a graduate from San Diego State University with dual bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Mexican American Studies, and is a member of the Hispañas Organized for Political Equality Leadership Institute 2014. Her term expires on June 30, 2018.

Ebony Lewis
Ebony Lewis

Ebony Lewis is a public member of the Board. Lewis was appointed by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. in December 2014. She has been with Kaiser Permanente since 2005 and currently works as a residency program administrator where she continues to build physician capacity and develop diversity recruitment through outreach strategies. She is a member of the University of Southern California Society of Trojan Women, Women in Health Administration, Junior League of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles African American Women’s Public Policy Institute, Co-Chair of Imagine LA Change Agents, and Co-Founder of the Black Los Angeles Young Democrats. Lewis earned an Executive Master of Health Administration degree from the University of Southern California, Sol Price School of Public Policy. Her term expires on June 30, 2019.

Barry Williams
Barry Williams

Barry Williams is an architect member of the Board. Williams was appointed by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. in December 2014. He has been principal architect and owner of Barry Lorenz Williams Associates since 2010, where he was principal architect and owner from 1981 to 1998, and has been a lecturer at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo since 1979. He was a principal architect at Westberg and White Inc. Architects and Planners from 1998 to 2010 and was a research analyst and professional liability specialist at Design Professionals Insurance Company from 1995 to 2001. Williams is a member of the College of Architecture and Environmental Design Foundation board. He earned both a Bachelor of Architecture degree and a Master of Science degree in architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. His term expires June 30, 2018.
