Building Official Information Guide
The California Architects Board is proud to announce an update to their Building Official Information Guide (Guide). The purpose of this Guide is to aid building officials and others in understanding and enforcing the laws and regulations governing the practice of architecture in California.
The Guide is a compilation of responses to questions that the Board frequently receives from California building officials together with other items of interest to those who must enforce state and local building standards. It is intended as a source of basic information about the Architects Practice Act and the Board’s rules and regulations. While it does not attempt to address all possible questions that could arise covering the practice of architecture, building officials have used the Guide for 20 years to help carry out their difficult jobs.
The Building Official Information Guide will be available in hardcopy and on the Board’s website under publications.
